Maybe. But if he is it will be later in the evening. But tomorrow is looking likely. Not to get your hopes up or anything, but we're definitely making progress!

I had an appointment yesterday afternoon at which no progress in dilation had been made (after over three weeks of being one centimeter-- you have to wonder, exactly how long HAS it been hanging out at one centimeter?), but I hadn't gained any weight in the past week+2 1/2 days, which is a good sign that he's decided he's big enough to greet the world (I should also point out that his heartrate is still strong and awesome, and yes he still likes to wiggle, although this is painful to mommy in NEW ways nowadays), and the fact that I've been really crampy the past few days was also taken to be a good sign. I got an appointment for Monday morning if nothing happens before then, at which point we'd talk about scheduling an induction for later next week. I've heard that inductions are more painful than otherwise, so that's further motivation for him to GET MOVING ALREADY... but I think he might be.

But first off, about exams-- they tend to encourage false labor! I've always been more contractiony for about 12 hours after each internal exam since they started 3 1/2 weeks ago, and last tuesday I'll definitely say I had a bout of genuine false labor, though it never was intense enough to cause a pointless trip to the hospital or anything. Then last night in the middle of the night I get some even worse. I try to go back to sleep-- and was quite happy about that, "Good, I get to sleep through early labor, that will make the rest go more quickly"-- but eventually it all calms down a bit and by the time I woke up, I knew it still wasn't time to even start timing contractions. BUT when I say it calmed down a BIT, I MEAN a bit, and it hasn't gone away completely yet. I have not only been very crampy all day but I also get these back pains and I do keep getting contractions, though they are not very intense and still not close enough to time. And I lost the mucus plug for good this time. I know I said that 3 weeks ago, but that was after my first internal exam, and I think it got prematurely knocked loose by the exam and had since regenerated itself, which supposedly happens (and apparently does). Of course you could say THIS time it was prematurely knocked loose by the exam, too, but come on, I'm almost 41 weeks! It's hardly premature anymore, and like I said, the other symptoms are NOT going away. How long they'll take to turn into anything serious, I don't know, but I'm pretty sure they will this time.

I'm not sure what to eat. I don't want to eat anything too difficult to digest if I'm just going to throw it up later. The mominlaw says High in Protein Low in Fat, but everything I can think of that I have that is high in protein also is high in fat, or is otherwise weird to digest. There's skim milk. That's got protein and no fat, but I'm not sure if it counts as easy to digest either. I guess I don't have to worry about it too long until I really start feeling things, at which point I might just lose my appetite anyway! We had chicken jambalaya for lunch, which was full of protein and low in fat, so that worked.... It was also spicy, if there's anything to THAT theory.

I'm going to get back up again and do some more moving around, like sweep and mop the kitchen floor, which might not help the baby along, but at least will get the floor clean. ;) Thought you'd appreciate the check-in though.

I will ask again-WHAT'S A MUCUS PLUG?

Lol.

It's the jello-like plug that keeps the baby inside! :) It sits at the top odf the cervix until you are dilated enouh for it to fall out. :)

Toast with butter, jello, popsicles, pb&j, uhm...........cheese and crackers...............this early, just avoid heavy things like mashed potato (or in the case of edward, sweet potatos-they are yucky coming back up!). Go with really small amounts of whatever you want.

Keep us posted! Sending you well wishes cause that baby is a coming!! (SIL says with 24 hours of losing you mp you go into labor!

Unless prematurely knocked loose by an internal exam! :D

I've started timing contractions... had a pretty steady every-ten-minutes for about an hour, then I lost track for another half-hour though I think I had some in that time. Then the baby will do this wiggling thing that almost feels like a contraction, or at least is as intense as one, but turns out not to be, and it's confusing! Oh, look, back to ten minutes again....

LOL! You're on your way, mine started at 10 min, messed around for ours then got down to business

Good luck! I can't wait until the little Weir joins us out here in the air-breathing world!

So, did ANYTHING cool happen on April 11th?

You know, I don't think anything cool did happen that day. Maybe it will some other year.

I ate granola cereal after my water broke with my son. I was glad I did - 17 hours later and a c/s, plus recovery time, it was well over 24 hours without eating and I was hungry!

With DD, I didn't eat anything. She came quicker (water broke at 6:00 and I'd pushed her out by 1:30 pm) and I got to eat right away that time. Best turkey sandwich ever. ;)

I'd just try to eat small meals - no matter what you eat, it isn't pleasant coming up (the exeption that I found was cinnamon toast crunch cereal) - oddly, it tasted pretty good coming up.

LOL, cinnamon toast crunch cereal is just the best!

lol.

I definitely haven't LOST my appetite at all yet, even though I am getting the feeling this is going to turn out to be the real thing, so I will definitely keep up the small meals until I can't anymore! I just had some yogurt-- that seemed fairly safe. It was fat-free yogurt at that.
