Hi!
I'm in a good mood. I don't know why. It might be because I found an ad for a full-time w/ benefits children's librarian (at MOON TOWNSHIP, a very good little library I patronized for a year). It might be because Brianna and I played cheesy '90s music in the car all day and tried to disect all the lyrics. And also, speaking of Brianna and carpooling, we found out that the museum, being a Green Building, is starting an incentive to get people to carpool, allowing everyone who carpools free parking right behind the building, which we have most definitely applied for and may start (if all goes well) next week! It might be because the Stillers Party last night was just a really good time-- I suppose I'll elaborate farther down this entry. It might be because I managed to fill the back of my schedule today with dialogue for the next chapter of Ian Schafer, after having gone about a month of blockishness. It might be because I finished going through the Peters Twp. Library Catalog (fiction only) collecting all the titles I at least remember reading (558), and decided I'm going to fix that list by finding author booklists and other catalogs and whatnot, and then finally posting a Master List With Exciting and Random Review Annotations on the Web because I apparently have nothing better to do with my life. It might be because all you wrote happy things in your own ljs. Well maybe not all of you. Most of you. Liz and Carrie definitely did. Megan wrote something funny, and that's close.
About the Game: so we went out to the Farm, where J's aunt still had the big screen TV she'd rented for the AFC championship, and Bethany surprised everyone! She flew in for the weekend and hung out at her friend's house and just showed up at the party without telling anybody! (This is my sister-in-law who goes to school in Florida). Saturday she went home and stuck a garden gnome on the sidewalk while her parents were out, and they came home and found this gnome walking up to their house and called US because they thought WE must have had something to do with it-- because the only other person who would have done that would be Bethany and it couldn't have been HER. Anyway. Good times were had by all. OKAY, so, those of you who watched the game, did you see the pre-game thing where all those celebrities were reciting Dr. Seuss?? (I ASK THIS PARTICULARLY OF CARRIE AND SALLY). THE BACKGROUND MUSIC WAS THE VIRPETS SCREENSAVER SONG!!! I so freaked. For a moment I thought it was a Children's Museum commercial and I was like, "Wow, how'd we get all these famous people for this commercial?" I totally thought that song was just made for Virpets! Now I really have to find out what it is so I can find a copy of my own because Virpets is broken and I miss the Virpets song! Anyway, that was a particularly bizarre thought of mine. But everyone else at morning meeting today noticed and was amused too. Speaking of the Museum and the Superbowl, I felt all proud that Hines Ward won MVP because he'd come to the Museum the other week, it was like personally touching. 'Cause he was holding his little boy up at the award presentation thing and I was like I MET THAT KID! That was weird of me, probably, but not as weird as my mother-in-law professing that Troy Polamalu has cute elbows. So there. J's cousin was at the game itself-- her boyfriend works for the Steelers, he's like grounds crew or something, and everyone who works for the Steelers got tickets to the game, plane tickets, hotel accomodations, and, if they won (which they did) EVERYONE in the organization including Krista's lowly groundscrew boyfriend actually gets a Superbowl Ring. That's pretty dang impressive. Anyway, Bethany thinks she saw Krista in the crowd during the Stones performance, but no one else caught it. We had a confetti cannon which of course Jason got to pop, and little bottle poppers too. I think that's all the interesting things I have to say.

Date: 2006-02-07 05:53 pm (UTC)From:Seriously? She used to live across the street from me. My dad dated/had an affair her while he was still married to my mom, and then for a while after they got separated. She was a jerk. I knew she had written a children's book, but not that anyone had ever actually read it. Was it any good?
