I just updated the List of All The Books I've Ever Read! Which means it will be up-to-date until probably this weekend, when I finish the book I'm reading now (Small Persons With Wings by Ellen Booream, incidentally, and I am loving it a lot so I might as well mention it-- Emily, this may be another one that is right up your alley). So anyway, if you are bored and looking for a bookish way to waste your time, you can read all my updated annotations of joy!

In the next few weeks, I plan to post a possible series of posts on The Future of Media, in which I will address the myriad responses and ideas I have every time I read or hear something else on the subject of electronic media. I also have, in progress, an ACTUAL list of my favorite books ever. I'm actually going to do it! It is less daunting than I thought it would be now that I've started (by the way, if you're going to attempt such a feat, it helps to have an Amazing List of All The Books You've Ever Read! as I do. I know I couldn't have done it otherwise-- would have been CERTAIN I'd forgotten something and would NEVER have trusted myself to post it).

In real life, nothing much of note. Looking into preschools for the Sam man. Lots of snow. Steelers won the AFC championship (AGAIN) so theoretically this means there may be SUPERBOWL PARTIES (ie, excuse for junk food), but I haven't heard promises of anything specific yet (you may recall that the last time this happened, I was unable to enjoy it properly because of a stomach flu. It is nice of the Steelers to be awesome, so that these opportunities keep coming up, though. As I said last time, it's not that I'm necessarily a football fan, I just like excuses to have parties). Oh, yesterday during naptime, ie, Sam-must-play-quietly-in-his-room time, Maddie bumped the wall or something so when I went up to check on her, Sam called me urgently from his room because he'd dropped one of his trains behind the bed. Only his words were, "Mommy! Arthur plunged into the ravine!" My kids are awesome.

Happy Birthday to my mom, who isn't likely reading this anyway! Also happy birthday to Mozart, who is even less likely to be reading this! Or more likely, depending on your view of how great composers choose to spend their afterlives!

There's a reason the Allegheny County Library System link is right next to the LJ link on my toolbar. :)

FINALLY got Mockingjay today - and I haven't even read your spoiler-riddled post about it, go me. However, in the dearth-of-new-books before Library Day, I'm about halfway through The Bridge of San Luis Rey, which is my FAVORITE BOOK OF ALL TIME. REALLY. This is my one-book-on-a-desert-island book. So, I must be true to it and finish it before Mockingjay - but I'm sure that will be, like, tomorrow. I shall Restrain Myself until then.

[Also I should mention, I finished Kate Coombs books - very fun! Which made me request everything Patricia C. Wrede has ever written, of course.]
