I just read this lovely article by Kathi Appelt and feel compelled to link you to it because it touches on things I have written about here before, about children's literature, about literature in general, about Accelerated Reader, about bracketing people off into reading levels or genres or cultures or whatever, and even contributes to a conversation about the Use of Fiction I had with my mother in law the other day, much more eloquently than I could ever say myself. So that's why I'm sharing it. You don't have to be a librarian or author to appreciate it, either, so don't think I'm not talking to you.

Possibly I have thought of more subjects I have considered writing about, but time is tight when you have toddlers. And I do mean that in the plural. Nearly.
