Office Max has printers on sale this week. Don't know if I should take the opportunity or not. Shall have to research this a bit. Anyone have any specific recommendations or cautions about certain brands or models?

I should get a Kinks CD.

Don't get the HP 5740. I got it for Christmas to replace my old busted printer, and it SUCKS. I just can't get it to do anything more complicated than print in black and white on 8.5 by 11 paper. Which is the most important thing, I guess, but you should be able to get a printer to do everything it's supposed to do, and I'm ready to throw this one out the window.

However, I was satisfied with my previous HP printer before it bit the dust.

Thanks! Yeah, it's so tough to figure out, you can't just go by brand, because HPs are supposed to be good but then you never can tell. And I'd like to try to get a printer/scanner in one, which is what I had before, but that involves compromises in quality a lot of the time too.
