My incredibly advanced 19-day-old said his first word today, "uh-oh." No seriously, he was lying there with the hiccups-- which for some reason don't bother him in the slightest-- cooing and saying what definitely sounded like "uh-oh" after each one, in the same tone of voice I always say "uh-oh" which I always say after he hiccups or burps or such thing-- seriously, he made the connection. ;) Actually he said his first word when he was just a couple hours old and trying to learn to nurse-- crying "wah! wah!" (it cracks me up that he actually does say "wah!" when he cries-- it so sounds like some little kid pretending to be a baby instead of an actual baby) and trying to fit his mouth around me, so it came out sounding exactly like "Mom! Mom!" which is very fitting. Anyway, in REAL developmental milestones we will sit and make faces at each other and he will stick his tongue out at me if I stick mine out at him. He can still be incredibly dumb about nursing though, though I've been able to get him on without a nipple shield at least once a day for the past couple days so perhaps the learning curve is catching up slowly.
He's asleep now. I also probably should have slept, but I didn't expect him to sleep as long as he has just now and I'd gotten on here and started doing stuff, so instead I did:

1. What bill do you hate paying the most? Well... I don't know. I would agree with Megan's Student Loan response for the same reasons (large and for something that is not being used), except that we put ours into deferment until we get another source of income!
2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner? Uh... that depends on your definition of romantic? Seriously, I can't even remember when was the last time we went out to eat just to go out.

5. Name of your first grade teacher? Mrs. Markewitz. This morning I was looking at some school thing of my brother's and noticed that he has a teacher named Mrs. Markewitz NOW, as a senior in high school, and it really threw me off! But now I remember that there WERE two Mrs. Markewitzes in our school district and one of them DID teach high school... but I never had her.
6. What do you really want to be doing right now? Eating ice cream. We might have some. Maybe I should go see.
7. What did you want to be when you were growing up? An author. I hope eventually the baby brain goes away enough for me to pursue that dream again.

It's short-sleeve (because I'm hot), button-down (because that's easier to manage than a large pullover shirt with a kid who still can be REALLY DUMB about latching), and still fits across my chest (which is several inches and two cup sizes larger than it was last year at this time).

12. First thought when the alarm went off this morning? It didn't, because I was at my parents' house. I think my sister's phone rang this morning though. And my thought was "Is sammy awake yet? I know he must be awake. I don't hear him yet. But probably he's been crying for hours and I slept through it again. I'm too tired to get up. But if he wants fed I have to get up. Does he want fed? I can't hear him. But it must be time by now..." This went on for awhile. It turned out he just WAS sleeping for that long.

45. Do you have a teddy bear? There's a bag in Sammy's closet that has a couple of teddy bears technically belonging to me in it. Sammy has about five teddy bears.

In the creek at Molly's family cabin, and the other Molly looked at the toothpaste floating downstream and said "Ooo, look at the beauty," and this was very amusing which is why I remember it eleven years later even though it was technically not that funny. Incidentally, the other Molly, whose last name is Sobota if you happen to know someone of that full name and would like to pass the message on to her, was one of the people on the list-of-people-from-high-school-I'd-like-to-run-into. Not that I'd mind running into the original Molly either, except I'm in TOUCH with her and therefore know how unlikely it would be to run INTO her.
