Here's a tip I learned a long time ago...make a list of all the meals that your family WILL eat. Your list will probably be shorter than most. Maybe make a list that has stuff on it like Spaghetti with an asterisk for Miss Anti-Pasta (who will dine on plain noodles that night, or meat balls sans sauce, or nuggets, if you feel like it.)
Anyway, take that list. Keep it on your fridge. When you go to make a grocery list, there you go. You can add in other things but you can pick three or four meals that are there, and boom, you're not scratching your head every night. You know you've got dinner fixins there.
I think we tend to gravitate towards chores we like if we have an option. I prefer to clean the bathroom rather than do the kitchen. I don't mind folding laundry, but hate putting it away. No one else likes putting it away, though, so I end up doing that. Sean prefers to clean kitchens over bathrooms, so he does that...unless there is outside work to be done.
Which coincidentally, I hate yardwork with every bone of my body. So I never ever do it. EVER. I've even told him as much that I won't. I'll hire someone if he wants, but I will not do it. I will occasionally plant some veggies or trim the azaleas, but that's the line, and that's pretty darn rare, on those days where you feel you MUST be outside doing something constructive, you know what I mean?

Anyway, that's my thoughts.
