I just heard similar advice recently-- the need to broaden ones self-labels, try other things, don't devote too much of yourself to one thing. It's a little frightening, and I've been a little lost. But I not only WROTE more when I was younger, but I did SO MANY OTHER creative things, too-- a LOT of music, as mentioned, and a bit of visual arts, and I had phases where I thought I'd be a photojournalist or a Broadway star. I hear at this stage in my life I'm just supposed to fully embrace being a mom, but I don't know. I still feel like i'm not DOING anything. But then, I DO have the flu at this moment and can't really do anything anyway. Makes it harder to think straight.
