I would love to see that first meeting between Meg and Calvin from his POV - it seemed like pretty instant attraction on his part to her, specifically to HER, as you said, even before meeting her family who he thinks is awesome, and is it that weird intuitive thing, the fact that she's obviously unhappy and he immediately wants to make her happy (but if so, why? just because she seems to need him, or something more?), or is he crushing on her right from the beginning, which would imply that there is way more to Meg, even before all her character development, than anyone suspects? Or was it just that L'Engle wanted to create Meg's perfect knight-in-shining-armor to make it even more impressive when she finally stepped out on her own, and therefore didn't worry her head too much about Calvin's motivations?
