I rarely friend anyone on Facebook that I don't know, but you're right. There is sometimes a difference between knowing someone and actually having met them. I think I have a couple of Facebook friends who are people who know John and have friended me in the process. Oh, and my ex-boyfriend's wife, but that's a weird story for another day. But you and one other person on my friend list are people I feel I know even though I've never met you. If it makes you feel any better, the other person even lives near me, works with my brother, is married to a guy who once dated one of my friends, and we've even exchanged baby presents, but we've never actually met. We were invited to both her wedding and baby shower, but I declined because at this point, it seems too weird to finally meet when there's no real reason why we haven't yet. It's like a Seinfeld story line, I swear.

But back to your point here. You're right. And I'm one of those folks who posts all sorts of things that back up my viewpoint. I know it. But I have never dissed anyone who chose to disagree with me. I have one friend in particular who likes to poke at me regarding the economy and I usually agree that he's right on some points. There are, admittedly, a couple people I've blocked from my feed because I feel their political posts have just been disrespectful and I'm not on Facebook to get pissed off. There are perhaps people who have blocked me because of my politics and if that's the case, then so be it. I'm cool with that.
