I'm talking to YOU, extended family member or high school/college aquaintance on Facebook! YOU, Twitter follower (all 21 of you, a third of whom I know at least already follow this blog to begin with and at least one of whom is a bot)! YOU, person who actually reads this on a blog reader or, imagine this, Friends page still! YOU, person-this-doesn't-apply-to-because-you-happen-to-be-on-my-actual-physical-Christmas-card-list! Click on through and observe what I would have sent you in the mail had I but the ability to (not counting the people who DID get one in the mail):

It would have also included THIS:
And also a rather short letter giving a general overview of what my kids are doing and how my husband and I are just boring workaholics, most of which you've already probably picked up on through reading me throughout the year.
But my point is, if I had your address, or, if I DO have your address, my kids had not gotten bored with making cards and I had more to send (there are a few of those, too. Or, if last year's card got sent back because the address was bad and I haven't gotten a new one, I'm talking to you, second-cousin Jess), you would have gotten an actual physical card, too, because you are Awesome, and I want to thank you for being my virtual friend-- or fan, or stalker, or whatever it is you are-- this past year.
On the off-chance you are bored at this moment, and would like to hear me go on and on about Christmas, here is a round-up of everything I have posted publicly on the subject of Christmas in the past:
Here's an overview of the Meaning of Christmas as I personally see it.
Here's a stream-of-consciousness list of Christmas memories that certainly makes ME feel Christmas-y, but then again maybe you had to have been there.
My thoughts on Santa Claus.
A really pretty picture.
Here's something about reciprocity in gift-giving, though I don't know how interesting it is. I'm just including it to be, you know, all-inclusive.
Here's the holiday version of the Guess the Lyric Game. Remember the Guess the Lyric Game? Man, I loved that game, even if no one else did. You can still play if you want, if you, you know, don't look at any of the other comments.
And this was already in several of the above links, but just in case you didn't click on any of them since it's two days before Christmas and you probably have other things to do, here are the lyrics to one of my favorite little-known Christmas songs, which exactly sums up what I actually want to say to everyone:
The Christmas Wish
I don’t know if you believe in Christmas,
or if you have presents underneath the Christmas tree.
But if you believe in love, that will be more than enough
for you to come and celebrate with me.
For I have held the precious gift that love brings
even though I’ve never saw a Christmas star.
But I know there is a light, I have felt it burn inside,
and I can see it shining from afar.
Christmas is a time to come together, a time to put all differences aside.
And I reach out my hand to the family of man
to share the joy I feel at Christmas time.
For the truth that binds us all together, I would like to say a simple prayer.
That at this special time, you will have true peace of mind
and love to last throughout the coming year.
And if you believe in love, that will be more than enough
for peace to last throughout the coming year.
And peace on earth will last throughout the year.
by Danny Wheetman, as sung by Kermit the Frog on the album A Christmas Together
I actually had this grand plan to write a review of that album this year, along with a review of the new Muppet "This movie needs a nickname like The White Album Has" movie, and I feel like I've been shirking my duties as the biggest Muppet Geek you probably know by not posting that post, but I've been busy and all. Or distracted by my hatred of Voice Activation. So maybe I will post that post eventually if you're interested, but in the meantime, HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, ALL. I LOVE YOU.

And the John Denver and the Muppets Christmas album gets heavy rotation here. We had it on 8-track when I was a kid. Yes, 8-track.
