I don't know, because there are plenty of things that SOUND like something I would enjoy, or would have enjoyed at some point in my life, but now I'm like, "but am I interested enough to actually READ the book?" I think part of the problem is it's taking me a really long time to read books this year to begin with, and I have such a backlog... but then you have to ask, why is it taking me so long to read books, too? I've had small children about for four years now, and obviously it wasn't a problem LAST year...
Me + Diana Wynne Jones-- same story! It was actually exactly three years ago I discovered her, I realized the other night when I was rereading Howl's Moving Castle under the glow of the Christmas tree, and realized I'd read it for the FIRST time under the glow of the Christmas tree, too, while pregnant with Maddie. I tell this story even though I apparently read The Lives of Christopher Chant as a child AND FORGOT ABOUT IT until I read it again, because obviously that doesn't count as discovering since I FORGOT ABOUT IT.
