Non librarian person question here...what the heck is MG? I'm used to seeing YA from you...but MG???
My guesses are "Middle Grades" "Maybe Genius" and "Mighty Good." But I have a feeling I'm pretty wrong on those.
Have you seen "Leaf Man" by Lois Ehlert? That's one of my favorites this year, as well as all the "Llama Llama" books by Anna Dewdney. Just the phrase "Please stop all this llama drama..." that cracks me up every time.
I agree with you on Mo Willams. Pure genius, and every book seems to be an instant hit with my class.
Can you suggest some good, easy reading chapter books for my class? We recently read Charlotte's Web, and everything else I've tried to read them falls flat. It needs to be simple enough that I only have to explain one word per page, but interesting. Which can be tough. :( I read them Ramona the Pest recently too.
