Today is the first day of my new work schedule-- I'm working til two on Monday and Thursday and a full day on Friday. So I now have Tuesdays Wednesdays Saturdays and Sundays off as well as two extra afternoons-- it's amazing the difference three hours can make. I was able to get home and actually make an errand-business-type phone call! (to the hospital in our continuing quest to try to set up a maternity ward tour at a time both of us can make-- we were supposed to go this weekend, but the lady who gives tours was out sick! Apparently only two people are actually qualified to give tours. I'm not sure why). I meant to even go to the grocery, but it was snowing and dark and I'm tired, and there's a TINY bit of milk yet, so I will go tomorrow when I'm bright and fresh for the new day and also the Weather Channel claims it will no longer be snowing. Although I wish I had MORE milk. Somehow, though I'm not sure how, I am drinking EVEN MORE THAN I ALREADY WAS, which was already more than I typically DID, which was already more than your typical adult! It's just so soothing on a heartburn-ravaged throat.
Anyway, so the other weekend the men of the family fixed the outlet in the garage and plugged in the freezer, so now I have a big freezer. So, in preparation for going to the grocery store and also having more time at home, I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas about how to get this freezer stocked up for the Really-Don't-Feel-Like-Cooking time.
So, those of you who have ever stocked up in such a way or helped someone else stock up or et cetera, what's the best thing to do with such a freezer? Freeze individual portions of food like homemade TV dinners? Freeze entire recipes in one thing? Prepare a recipe UP UNTIL the cooking part, freeze that, then cook the whole way when you go to eat it? A combination of all three? And what recipes work best in such a method? And are there any that don't involve too much touching of vegetables to meat and et cetera as my husband is more of a baby than the baby is? (For some reason he's okay with stew and stir-fry, but not with such things happening in casseroles).
Okay, I thought I had more to write, but apparently not.
Except, just to further make sure it hasn't gotten lost on the bottom of your friends' page, don't forget the game! Best game ever-- 18 of the 33 songs have been solved! I don't know if this was just a good batch of songs, or something about it being the FIRST line as opposed to ANY line just makes it that much easier. I'll post the answers later this week. Like, Wednesday maybe.
