For some reason all my white background lj pages (like, comments and updates and userinfo, not the friends page and whatnot) just spontaneously became large print. All I did was hit Ctrl-C to copy something, and BOOM! it all got big. No idea.

Here is a high school survey:
Take this survey about your High School memories. If your still in hs answer for the present. (The person who wrote this needs to go back to ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND LEARN THE PROPER USE OF "YOUR" vs. "YOU'RE"! Thank you).

1) Where did you graduate from and what year?
Derry Area High School (laugh if you will), Class of 1996

2)Did you have school pride?
All I knew is we were better than Latrobe. ;) And I thought it was funny that we had a huge ag/hort department. Actually, I will go with the two previous posters of mine and say "band pride," meaning we freakin' rocked and that was that. The rest of our music department was pretty awesome too.

3) Was your Prom a night to remember?
Not at all. I can't even remember NOT going. Although, senior prom process-of-asking was kind of funny in retrospect. Bit of a story there. Too long for here.

4) What was your fav. song you danced to the night of PROM?
Why is PROM in CAPS? Considering I don't even remember not going to the prom, I have no idea what music I happened to be listening to that evening. Or what I was doing, either.

5) Do you own all 4 yearbooks?
yes. They're pretty interesting too.

6) Do you remember the First CD you ever bought?
The first CD I ever owned for my own personal self I believe was the Beatles' red album (greatest hits '62-'66), but that I was given as a present. I have this vague impression that Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits may have been the first CD I actually bought for myself.

7)What was your favorite Movie in High School?
"Ha, you think I could pick one movie then, either?" says Tracie, and I quote her. But I will definitely have to agree with her "Beauty and the Beast." Also my other stand-bys like Star Wars and Back to the Future. Ohhhhhhhhhh... how could I forget "Sense and Sensibility"?????? Talk about high school memories.

8.)What was your number 1 choice of College in HS?
Not sure, and neither was I then. All I knew was, at the beginning, it WASN'T IUP...!

9) What radio station(s) did you jam out to in highschool?
3WS and then Channel 97. You see, I'd discovered the Beatles and needed to stalk the stations most likely to play them.

10) Were you involved in any organizations or clubs?
Duhness. Band band band. Chorus and ensemble/show choir (name depending on the director). Newspaper. NFL (forensics not football). Musical, if you can call that a club or organization. I can't think of anything else, so if I was, it obviously wasn't memorable.

11)What was your fav class(es) in High School?
Anything taught by a Werner (general English, research, Shakespeare). SPEAR, which was basically "Study hall where you get to goof off and chat with Mrs. Forte and go on field trips and pretend you're intelligent" although I spent most of the time there writing which I'm sure Mrs. Forte would consider educational and enriching enough. Band and other music related things usually. Journalism senior year when we had a class.

12) Who was your big crush in Highschool?
Heh, I'm going to say Ian Schafer. It's actually not a lie. We could also say Paul McCartney, considering that crush probably had the most effect on the rest of my life from that point on.

13) Would you say you've changed a lot since highschool?
I wouldn't, but everyone else would. I've BLOSSOMED. The me that I always was has now actually gotten the chance to shine at last! (See my entry the other day about teen angst).

14) What do you miss the most about it?

Hanging out with Angie.

15) Your worst memory of HS?
Any of my bouts of severe depression. Perhaps the time a girl in my class who I considered a bit of a minor friend did her "pet peeve" speech in Speech class on "people who cry at nothing" and it was totally all about me, although there were no names used. Or one of the incidents that was referred to in that speech, where, unbeknownst to anyone else, I actually debated throwing myself off the balcony of the theater we had field-tripped to, and then I hated myself for being a coward. It's stuff like that that I can look back at and still feel the hurt. People picking on Angie is a nasty bad memory of mine, but that is tempered by the memory of how truly I loved her, and how I'd actually speak up and defend her, and how anyway she grew up and suddenly became totally popular in college so hah hah to all them. And then all my romantic angst was probably really bad memories at the time, but now I think they're sort of funny.

16) Did you have a car?
No. Ask me if I had a licence. Ask me if I had a PERMIT.

17) What were your school colors?
blue and gold

18) Who were your fav. teachers?
The Werners, Mrs. Forte, and Miss Slade, who is not Miss Slade anymore. She is Karen Kerin, which is THE FUNNIEST NAME IN THE WHOLE WORLD.

19) Did you own a cell phone in highschool?
I don't believe my parents even owned a cell phone. Possibly my dad for work.

20) Did you leave campus for lunch?
We weren't allowed.

21) If so, where was your fav. place to go eat?
The best was when Mrs. Forte had an open SPEAR-able period during your lunch, so you'd just go to her room instead. Although one time when I was stuck in the cafeteria and wasn't eating WITH anybody I just got fed up with the whole THING and walked out of the cafeteria, but Miss Slade caught me and let me eat in the band room, and Neal was skipping his lunch too playing jazz trumpet in the practice room, and I just decided THAT was why band directors were the best people in the world. Because they let angsty high schoolers skip lunch and hang out in the band room.

22) Were you always late to class?
No. Usually I was early and used the time to sneak in some writing.

23) Did you ever have to stay for Sat. School?
I did not know that there was such a thing as Saturday School. Perhaps there wasn't. But yes, I, too, was often there on Saturdays for band and music things.

24) Did you ever Ditch?
Yeah, sortof, but I was such a good and well-behaved student otherwise that all my teachers just accepted that if I had to walk out of class and hang out in the guidance office, I must really need it. Once the guidance councelor even sent me home. Mental health day, I would later call it as a teacher myself.

25) When it comes time for the reunion will you be there?
Yes. There are definitely people I am curious about seeing. There are plenty of people I couldn't care less about, but I plan on ignoring them.
