Yes, it's now officially time-for-festive-anticipation. There's a reason December is my favorite month of the year, and this is it. I know I'm psycho. I know a lot of other people find it stressful and miserable. But they're just not LOOKING at it the right way! You have to WANT to spread Christmas cheer, not feel like you HAVE to because it's the thing to do! If you feel that way, then relax and don't worry about it-- leave it up to us psychos!

Okay, the pumpkin pasties I made on Wednesday may have been decently good, but the pumpkin-and-cream-cheese muffins I made for Lindsay's yesterday ROCKED. And still rock. Considering that's what I just had for breakfast.

Friday night was my aunt's party, and it was pretty fun, and it turns out the only people who weren't there WERE my siblings (HAH!) and grandma. It was at this fancy restaurant that had mandatory valet parking with a mandatory minimum two-dollar tip for valet parkers, which we thought was awfully shady of them, and it was a good thing we happened to HAVE two dollars on us because we might not have. My aunt's husband's jazz band played, and then we were listening to this jazz CD on their breaks, and everyone was dancing, it was loads of fun. It made me wish I actually owned more jazz music. The food was good, but our waitress was remarkably cranky. Like, does she hate happy friendly people? Interesting.

Saturday we went to Lindsay and Rob's, and eventually found their house. Very nice little house. Sometimes I wish we had a smaller house... probably be cheaper... Lindsay and Rob had the same number of rooms, but they were smaller rooms, more compact, like. And it looked nicer that way. But maybe if I bothered to do household chores my house would look nicer too. It was a lovely time. The highlight was observing my baby cousin Zoe who IS A GENIUS. At least she has very advanced verbal development for a 19-month-old. And I see a lot of 19-month-olds in my line of work. She was carrying around Lindsay's camera at one point telling people to say cheese. (After awhile her mother gave her her own camera to play with, so nothing would happen to Lindsay's, but Lindsay just seemed to find it adorable anyway so didn't really mind). And she kept sitting in the dog bed like it was HER SEAT because it was just the right height. And she knows lots of funny words like "sternum" and "compound harvester." Jackie was trying to teach her "falanges." That was fun.

And yesterday was my dad's birthday, so they asked us if we wanted to come out for cake and stuff, and since this way we could also follow my dad out of Glenshaw and so not get lost again, it seemed like a pretty good deal. That turned out cool because not only were the Hankinsons and Zeke there, but Carrie and Steve were also home and came over, and Wayne and Beverly came by, too. We had hot sausage soup, and then I-- yes ME here-- promptly forgot about food because we got so occupied playing PIG. I haven't played PIG in years!!!! I forgot how much fun it can be!!!! I came in third, too, although before we started I wasn't at all sure I had the reflexes for it any more. Like I have the reflexes for anything at any time in my life. Then we had cake-- yellow cake and Kahlua cake-- and ice cream.

Then we came home, and I SLEPT IN EVEN LATER THAN JASON, because I guess I had to catch up, and got up in time for church, and had a pumpkin muffin, and we ordered pizza so as to prepare for the weekly online gaming session, but now it looks like we're cancelling that and will go out to finally see Goblet of Fire this afternoon instead. STILL ROCK!

Okay, I'm cheating, it's not really a review, it's more a Reader Response. I mean Viewer Response. I hated Lit Analysis. But anyway, so we went to see Goblet of Fire and I was very pleased. This is definitely one of the better movies. I haven't seen the first one in awhile so I don't know which I like more; but the fourth book is one of my favorites-- the most recent reading I've decided it's my second-favorite, 5 being first, so obviously the book is still better than the movie, whereas the first movie and first book were tied-- I think they were actually equal, but on the other hand the first book is one of my LEAST favorite of the books. Not like I don't LIKE it, I just am not quite as obsessive about it as some of the others. I mean I loved it when I first read it, but I didn't become a fanatic about the series until Chamber of Secrets. So to get back to the original point, I therefore don't know whether I like movie 1 or 4 better, but who cares anyway?
This would be a good place to Cut for spoilers, although, come on, if you really CARE you OUGHT to have already known all this stuff by now! The book's been out for five years, people! And you know the book is always better than the movie! )
