So, Jason's been eating this cereal lately, Toasted Honey Crunch, and he really likes it and keeps going on about how we need to have it always in stock. And I'm eating it and it tastes good but I say to him, "I'm surprised you like this so much. It's got quite a strong taste of coconut." And he's always saying how much he can't stand coconut. And he says, "No it doesn't! That's honey!" and I said, "Well there's a honey taste but there's a coconut taste too, very much in fact." He continued to deny this, saying it was just Granola flavor, but I continued to very much taste coconut, and in fact I swear I SEE coconut in the little granola bunches. So then I go to the cereal box and read the ingredients and listed RIGHT AFTER HONEY (which is in the TITLE of the cereal for goodness sakes) is COCONUT!

I don't know if he honestly doesn't realize that that's the taste of coconut, or if he's convinced himself it isn't, like he's convinced himself that the green things in Italian Wedding Soup are parsley.

Anyway, have a nice day!

Garlic!

Exciting things of today:

-- Although the thought of having to vaccuum doth annoyed me, actually HAVING IT DONE is AMAZING. I could actually SEE the dust being lifted out of the carpet. Not to mention about a basketball-sized amount of my hair. Wow. I bet I'll sleep better now somehow. Breathe better at least.

-- The Stones concert is tonight so on the way to and from the grocery THREE different stations were playing nothing but Stones. Somehow rather than annoying me it just made me want to go home and put MORE Stones on, so I did, although one of my Stones CDs is actually them and Heart and ELO all on one disk when I was selling a lot of CDs back after my radio show ended and so made copies off the ones I was selling of just the songs I liked-- obviously this was BEFORE my Jeff Lynne obsession or else I wouldn't have ever sold the ELO CD back... I still regret that... anyway...

-- It's apple season! I don't know how apples can all of a sudden seem so exciting, when they're like the most boring fruit ever, but in September they're NOT! I mean they ARE! EXCITING! It's what's in season, seriously. I feel the same way about strawberries in March and April. God is like the greatest chef ever.

-- So for dinner I had all these tomatoes so I made BRUCHETTA, which I know is NOT a DINNER but so what. It had loads of vitamins! And I made it with like three times the garlic because ONE CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH GARLIC, EVEN IF IT MEANS WAKING UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITH A STOMACHACHE AT THE SAME INSTANT AS YOUR SISTER WHO HAS THE EXACT SAME GARLIC-INDUCED STOMACHACHE! IT'S ALL GOOD! Actually when I saw all the tomatoes I had I emailed Aunt Betsy to ask for the recipe for the tomato-garlic dip stuff that caused said stomachache, but I haven't heard back from her yet. Perhaps it is top-secret and she refuses to part with it.

I get way too excited about food. That's why I'm so bad at buffets. It's not that I like to eat a lot, it's that I like to TASTE a lot.

Anyway, so as you see, I found a lot to be excited about today. Why half of that involves food, I don't know.
