A Generic One like "My Busy Day"
Aug. 29th, 2005 07:29 pmYeah, like, today was eventful at the museum.
The first interesting thing that happened was I met a pathetic little girl who totally reminded of me as a child. I mean she was TERRIFIED OF EVERYTHING, and she was about five, not like pre-conversational or anything. She would freak out at everything, "let's go in the gravity room," said her dad "NOOOO!" she screamed... "let's check out the shadow room" "NOOOOO!" and so on... and she'd huddle whenever possible, and just sit down if things were bothering her too much, I mean just sit down where she was and refuse to budge. I mean, totally, that was me, and it reminded me of a Backstory and I was going to type it, but then the rest of the day happened and now I have too much other stuff to write about and I'm tired, so I'll do it some other day.
Then there was a massive leak from the pipes in the ceiling of Waterplay. I was rather afraid it would burst and flood us out. But by the time I got help, it was already starting to ebb, so it all worked out okay.
Then I had Storytime, and it went very fun, except for these annoying older boys who were sitting nearby and kept making comments that they already knew the stories and whatnot. I had everyone up on stage acting out The Three Little Pigs by the end. It rocked and that.
And then I was hanging out in the doorway of the Gravity Room because there wasn't anybody there, and I was thinking about Angie and how she's going back to Minnesota on Wednesday and I didn't get to see her again, and suddenly Angie herself walks into the Attic! It was so spontaneously absurd. And she was there with this guy named Josh who kept saying "This would be a cool place to work" and I said "WE'RE HIRING!!!!!!!" with the multiple exclamation points of course, because we certainly do need people right now, I mean that's why I'm working an extra half-day on Wednesday, which means I will be driving into the Museum SIX days in a row since we had staff training last night too, sheez. Anyway, they were having a great time and we hung out in the GR for a few minutes because as it happened I was fifteen minutes late getting relieved from there, which turned out to be lucky in that case. But then I had to run off to Silk Screen and never ran into Ang again, which made me feel way sadder than was sensible. But she left me a goodbye note at the front desk. I miss her. I miss her because even when she IS in the area I barely get to see her! And that reminded me of several MORE Backstories, but same issue, I just don't feel like typing anymore tonight!
And now I'm very tired and my back is sore, but have a nice day!
