So Beth Baran came to the Museum today-- I was staring at her and said "I think I went to college with her..." and I stared long enough that she looked back and the recognition went mutual. So she was like "Yeah I'm a lawyer now" and I was like "Yeah, I'm working at a job that several high schoolers also work"...! Well not quite as bad as all that, and anyway, she was thoroughly impressed with the museum (she was there with her nephews, though I still say, come WITHOUT kids if you don't have any, it still rocks!) and was having a great time and kept saying it looked like a totally cool job! Well it IS, it just doesn't pay anything and completely lacks prestige, but, you know.
Somebody set off a pipe bomb somewhere in Canonsburg last night; when I heard that I was actually relieved because when I heard there was an explosion in Canonsburg I was like "The gas line AGAIN?? We have to do something about the gas company around here!" (There have been at least two explosions in Canonsburg since we bought our house and they were from people who did stupid things like DIGGING INTO the gas line, but still. There was also a leak in our line last fall-- luckily not the explosive kind, and also luckily it's fixed!)
Tomorrow I'm going home and then we're all going to Wendy's shower and then Angie is coming over to my parents' for dinner too!!!!! (deranged mind).
Speaking of bridal showers and friends from high school, does anyone know if I have anything I'm supposed to do on Sept. 10? Because that's Molly's shower, and I kept staring at the invite thinking, "Why do I think I have something else to do on Sept. 10?" But maybe the shower IS what I always had to do on Sept 10 and I heard the date at some earlier point but forgot why it was important.
