Hey all! I guess I'll post answers to the Latest Marvelous Lyric Game, but if you haven't played yet, pop on over and give it your best anyway, because I care and want you to succeed in life.

marisa724 (40 pts), vovat (26), rockonliz127 (3), punterschlagen (14), and tigger18325 (15 1/2)! You may note that they all have very different scores, except the latter two who were quite close, but they all are the clear winners because, dangit, they played the game.
Now for an explanation of the game they played:
1. "Let me take you to the movies, let me take you to the show..." "Houses of the Holy," Led Zeppelin.
2 "Say [title] and you'll be free..." "The Word," the Beatles. Nathan got it.
3. "I am just a poor boy, though my story's seldom told..." "The Boxer," Simon and Garfunkel. Marisa, Nathan, and Emily got it, Liz got the artist
4 "I think I'm gonna be sad, I think it's today..." "Ticket to Ride," the Beatles, although, you know, I LIKE the Carpenters.... ;) Emily and Marisa got it
5 "Ground control to Major Tom..." "Space Oddity," David Bowie. There IS a song called "Major Tom (Coming Home)" by someone called Peter Shilling, who I think is German, and this song is also on my computer. But this one was the Bowie. Marisa and Nathan got it, Leah got the artist, and everyone else was just confused.
6 "Come on and dance. Come on and dance. Let's make some romance" "Swingtown," Steve Miller Band. Marisa got it
7 "And I never thought I'd feel this way, and as far as I'm concerned I'm glad I got the chance to say..." "That's What Friends are For," Dionne Warwick and Friends, and Marisa did an impressive job of trying to name who all the "Friends" were as well as getting it right. Leah got it, too.
8 "You say the hill's too steep to climb..." "Fearless," Pink Floyd, possibly one of my favorite songs in the whole world. No one actually got this, but Nathan and Leah astutely noticed that if 10, 12, or 18 was Floyd, then so must this be....
9 "Move yourself: you always live your life never thinking of the future" "Owner of a Lonely Heart," Yes. Marisa got the title. Fun fact time: they originally wrote this song for Stevie Nicks, who turned it down, but next time you hear this song, listen to it with that in mind and you will never hear it the same way again.
10 "Hello, is there anybody in there?" "Comfortably Numb," Pink Floyd. Nathan and Leah got it, Marisa got the artist.
11 "Some folks are born made to wave the flag..." "Fortunate Son," Creedence Clearwater Revival. Emily got it. I was kind of surprised she was the only one. Possibly Maggie would have, even with her lyric-disorder, if she had computer access this week.
12 "Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day..." "Time," Pink Floyd. It's the one on Dark Side that starts with all the alarm clocks? I knew you knew it after all...
13 "Well, justa look at that girl with the lights coming up in her eyes." "Somebody's Baby," Jackson Browne. Marisa knew the song, which was quite cool of her
14 "You make me weep and wanna die" "Lovin Touchin Squeezin," Journey. My gosh people! The original Na-Na Song! The one that gave birth to the Na-Na Show and the Na-Na CD! Possibly you would have got it if I had used the lyrics "Na na na na na...."
15 "Holding you close undisturbed before a fire""Lady of the Island," Crosby Stills and Nash. Didn't really expect anybody to get this
16 I don't know if anybody even noticed the replacement song: "All is quiet on [title]," but it was "New Years Day," U2.
17 "Now I've been happy lately, thinking about the good things to come""Peace Train," Cat Stevens.
18 "[title],out there in the cold, getting lonely, getting old...""Hey You," Pink Floyd. Leah got it.

20 "To lead a better life, I need my love to be here." "Here There and Everywhere," the Beatles. Which John Lennon maintained was his favorite Beatles song ever, and it was even Paul's song. Anyway, Nathan and Marisa got it.

22 "Well I built me a raft and she's ready for floatin'""Black Water," the Doobie Brothers. Marisa knows how to really sing this one.
23 "Every day she takes a morning bath, she wets her hair""Another Day," Paul McCartney. Marisa got it and Nathan gets bragging rights for a correct 25% guess.
24 "Because you're sweet and lovely, girl, I love you""For You Blue," the Beatles. Marisa got it
25 "Well I heard some people talking just the other day, and they said you were gonna put me on the shelf.""Already Gone," the Eagles. Leah got it. She always gets my southern rock ones!
26 "Well no one told me about her, the way she lied""She's not there," the zombies. Em, nathan, and marisa got it, which was way more than I expected, go you.
27 "Leave your cares behind. Come with us and find..." the pleasures of a "Journey to the Center of the Mind," the Amboy Dukes. It's psychedelic rock. dig?
28 "They put a parking lot on a piece of land Where the supermarket used to stand.""Come Dancing," the Kinks, though, as Liz pointed out, it DOES make you get "Big Yellow Taxi" stuck in your brain instead, don' it? but Marisa got it right.
29 "'There must be some kind of way out of here,' said the Joker to the Thief.""All Along the Watchtower," Jimi Hendrix. Nathan got it, also correctly identifying that it was written by Bob Dylan. Andy and I played it on our "Salute to Bob Dylan" show. Why do I keep going on about my college radio show, anyway?
30 "A man walks down the street; he says, 'why am I soft in the middle, now?'""You Can Call Me Al," Paul Simon, NOT, as Jason regularly attempts to assert, Chevy Chase. Emily, Nathan, and Marisa nailed it.
