Update of many things

'K. Can't remember what last you heard about. Oh, the Miffy's head thing. Therefore, you don't know anything since Friday. Not that it's anything vital. Well, maybe the first bit, but they're mostly more RUMORS AND THINGS:

--As for the job interview I completely sucked at, they are reposting the position because it changed from the position they originally posted. I'm still in the running, but... I think it will probably go to someone more managerial in the end.

--But on the other hand, Lois has informed me that the Museum is considering making my Unofficial Official Museum Librarian job OFFICIALLY Official. It would pay more, and MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT even possibly turn into something full-time, even with benefits. MIGHT! Not jinxing anything.

--In related news, yesterday I was summarizing a pile of Fall Festival evaluation forms for Lois when I spotted an email address someone had put on one. Just an email address, no name or anything else, but it told me a whole lot that I found very interesting! Because I recognized the domain name right away-- it was from the school district I left last year. Only a librarian would be allowed to take off school for the Fall Festival, and this address didn't belong to the elementary or high school librarians, so THIS form had obviously been filled out by... MY REPLACEMENT! The school district email addresses are first initial, last name, and almost the same time that I noticed the school, I recognized the last name as being that of the geography teacher at the middle school, with whom I had team-taught several research projects and also was rather friends with... and at the same instant I realized that the first initial was that of the library-school attending fiancee he had mentioned to me many times! Well, this made me very happy. I've never met this woman, but I'm so glad to know she has taken over my job. Obviously if her now-husband has successfully worked there three years, she KNEW what she was getting into when she took it (and for that matter, they have each other to support each other-- that HAS to be helpful), so is much more likely to stay, and I'm SO GLAD they're going to have somebody STABLE at last.

--You all know what a sucker I am for surveys. Well, I subscribe--using a junk email address that I also use for this lj (although neither seems to have been a problem as far as spam is concerned)-- to this consumer survey thing where they send you surveys about products and shopping and whatnot every so often... the hook is that you're automatically registered for a sweepstakes drawing every time you take a survey, but I just like taking surveys, so I don't particularly care. Although I wouldn't mind winning a sweepstakes drawing. Anyway, so on monday they sent me a bottle of TOP SECRET FABRIC SOFTENER. In the real mail, not email. It's not top-secret to ME, but I'm NOT ALLOWED UNDER PENALTY OF... well, UNDER PENALTY OF THE GUILT OF KNOWING YOU DIDN'T PLAY FAIR to tell anybody the brand name or ANYTHING ELSE about it, and I am also not allowed to wash any of your clothes with it unless you live with me. I have to use it for the next four weeks and then fill out a survey about it. But I am really getting a kick out of the whole TOP SECRET FABRIC SOFTENER thing. NO, DON'T ASK! I CAN'T TELL YOU!

--96.9 has changed their music format from classic rock to something called Bob FM. It's apparently syndicated, but basically the point of the format is that THERE IS NO FORMAT. It's just whatever random music Bob feels like playing. I heard them play the Kinks and Gwen Stefani right in a row the other day. I find this very funny. So, technically, it's got the same format as, like, my computer. Except that my computer only plays GOOD songs, whereas Bob will also apparently play whiney '00s "rock"-- you know the type-- and also a lot of Bob Seger (I wonder if it's the name). Sometimes I wonder if they made this decision upon recieving the results of my Arbitron radio survey (me and surveys again) I did just a fwe weeks before in which I said that "Yes I do listen to Channel 97 but I also flip around to all these other channels too", so now they're like (and I'm quoting an actual station break here) "we do the channel surfing for you!" but of course it doesn't work when they go and play crappy stuff. Still, the concept amuses me, and I'm glad SOMEBODY in radio thought to do it.

--I'm trying to make this patchwork hippie shirt, but I mismeasured, owing to its being patchwork and requiring a lot more seam allowance than I considered, so now I'm figuring out how to fix it, so it's all quite an interesting dilemma, and eventually, I'll get back to it. I've been too lazy after work the past couple days, but today I might. I like designing things for sewing on the machine-- it's like a puzzle. I think that's why I'm more into that than I ever got into stuff like needlepoint or embroidery.

--My glasses are really horribly sucky right now. I would get new, but Jason just got new (and his were older to begin with), and they were 120 dollars-- just lenses mind you-- so we'll have to wait 'til NEXT paycheck at least to get mine replaced. But I'm not sure if it's so much my glasses as my sinuses again that I'm getting headaches lately.

That's all I have fun and exciting to share with you today. I hope all is well and junk.
