Hi! I reached your journal on one of those circuitous trips through LJ, when I came across your opening line guessing game - and I WANT TO JOIN IN, because games can be fun. :) Hope you don't mind if I add you too - those of us in the library business should stick together.
1. Alas, no idea, although it keeps making me think of Snoopy, who eventually branched out to the opening "He was a dark and stormy knight". 2. Sense and Sensbility 3. The Secret Garden (I think) 4. For some reason, I'm thinking this is Alice Through the Looking-Glass rather than her adventures in Wonderland but I could be woefully, woefully wrong about this. 5. Anne of Green Gables 6. It sounds Pratchetty, but I can't think which one it is without consulting my collection (which is at least twenty metres away...) 7. No idea, alas. 8. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 9. The Hobbit (which I prefer over Lord of the Rings) 10. No idea.
