Sorry to hear you're going through a rough patch. This time of year can be hard, with the shorter days (especially now, with the time change!), and the blazing pageant of autumn glory fading to the starkness of winter's approach.

Here's something completely unrelated to what we've been talking about, but will hopefully give you some hope for this world: a friend of mine has been doing one of those sell-from-home businesses for a couple of years, and with her extra money she just barely bought a pair of special (and expensive) glasses for another friend's color-blind teenage son, so that he can see colors. Isn't that awesome? He put them on at sunset, and was able to see COLOR in the sky for the first time in his life, instead of just varying degrees of brightness.

It's stories like these that remind me of the goodness in people, and give me hope on days when humanity seems, overall, to be wallowing in its own filth. The light still shines in the darkness!
