Yes! It reminds me far too much of those cheesy cartoons that feature a group of kids who can all be defined by The One-Word Type they represent: "the girl" "the nerd" "the fatty" "the hip black kid" I couldn't think of how to fit that in one word, but still.... It really is less about representation-at-all than it is about stereotypes. I don't think I would have even noticed if there weren't girls with glasses so much if it hadn't been that every time you DID see a girl with glasses, she was either an incurable nerd or she had to lose them in a MAKEOVER! montage.
