From pretty early on, Ellie was catching on to the spelling thing. We started having to use extreme descriptions to work around it. For example, "cheese" was "coagulated dairy product." Ice cream? "frozen coagulated dairy product." Outside? "cure for nature deficit disorder." Playground? "extreme ninja training preschool."
It is pretty awesome, though, when I can tell her, "Hey, go read your brother a book." Even more awesome was the other day when she was letting him in on the secret and trying to teach him how to read...and it was working.
