Hooray, I have inspired interest! The Ashbury High books are Your-Contemporary-High-School-Story Books for absurd-minded people. I wouldn't have thought to give them a look until I read a hilarious interview/guest-blog-post/something with Jaclyn Moriarty this summer and thought, "She is a FUNNY GEEKY COOL PERSON! I am going down to the YA section RIGHT NOW [because I was at the library at the time] and getting one of her books!" What's nice is that they're companion books rather than a proper series, so you can read them in any order, but if you WANT to read them in story-chronological order I believe the first one is Feeling Sorry for Celia, which is ironically the only one I HAVEN'T read.
