Another End of the Year Survey

1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before? Take unemployment pay.
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Didn’t make any. If I think of something to resolve to do, I’ll do it when appropriate.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? No
4. Did anyone close to you die? No
5. What countries did you visit? The Midwest US. That’s a foreign country.
6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005? Health insurance
7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory? For some reason I always remember that June 16th was the day we came home from Missouri, but more importantly would be Molly’s anniversary now being Oct 22.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Inventorying the Museum book collection, publicly. Privately (so far), actually writing ten chapters of Ian Schafer.
9. What was your biggest failure? Not getting a library job.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Not notably until this back thing. Oh, there was a pretty bad sinus infection in March, too.
11. What was the best thing you bought? Chocolate? No, maybe Jason’s Christmas presents, they made him laugh a lot.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration? Most of my coworkers
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed? Too many bad parents. Yeah. Could drone about that one awhile, I could.
14. Where did most of your money go? The Mortgage.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Ahead of time or after the fact? I don’t know. I got really really really excited about chocolate coating stuff. Revenge of the Sith, Half-Blood Prince, and Goblet of Fire The Movie. Christmas preparations. Random dumb things like a song I like coming on the radio.
16. What song will always remind you of 2005? Ask me again in a couple years, when I can actually look back and think of a song.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you
--1. happier or sadder? Happier.
--2. thinner or fatter? The same.
--3. richer or poorer? Definitely poorer.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Visiting, writing to people I’m out of touch with, writing more regularly in general.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Worrying.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? I would have told you, but the power went out.
21. Did you fall in love in 2005? No. With Lysergic Listening?
22. How many one night stands? None.
23. What was your favourite TV program? What’s a TV?
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Nope.
25. What was the best book you read? I totally cannot decide. Even if you narrow it just to books that came out this year.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery? The Elephant 6 groups. Or Lysergic Listening.
27. What did you want and get? My Christmas presents
28. What did you want and not get? A real library job
29. What was your favourite film of this year? Once more I can’t decide. Possibly Goblet of Fire.
30. What did you do on your birthday? Worked. Came home, Jason was working evening shift (that was at Gander Mtn), he'd left me a big present, it was a sewing machine case. Barely actually saw him though.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Financial security. And health insurance.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? Meaning that I had a different fashion concept this year than other years? Probably: wear my Museum uniform the majority of the time.
33. What kept you sane? Jason
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? I think I briefly had an answer for this, but I forget what it was.
35. What political issue stirred you the most? Politics in general, and non-thinking partisian behaviors, ie, I support the Democrats/Republicans rather than actually holding your own individual opinions on separate issues-- the whole thing left over from last year's election, that we have a "divided america," and worse when people started BUYING INTO that, instead of actually talking about their differences and working to a compromise solution... I so hate politics.
36. Who did you miss? A lot of people. Angie a lot, but that’s typical. I missed my own husband if I had to go, you know, like three hours without seeing him.
37. Who was the best new person you met? Well, I will have to say [livejournal.com profile] yavanna2006 as she is the only new person I met who is likely to read this. ;) No really I can’t say who the VERY best is. I’m also very fond of Megan Z and Jessica C.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005. It is possible to survive on no income if you budget accordingly.
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. “I can’t complain, but sometimes I still do.” –Joe Walsh. That really sums up more my whole life.

Now I thought of giving you an update, but sitting in this chair is not serving my back well, so bye. Bye Bye Baby Bye Bye, as Janis just started singing on my computer right at this very minute.

EDIT:34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? I think I briefly had an answer for this, but I forget what it was.

Oh! EWAN MACGREGOR. I don't know how I forgot that one.

Anyway, bye.
