Ye Olde Dilemma
May. 19th, 2005 08:04 pmMy public library job-- THOUGH SO VERY CLOSE-- slipped out of my grasp after all, leading me to again have to ponder the debate:
Do I want to hold out for a public library job and be happy?
Or will I settle for a school library job that pays better and is easier to find and requires me to deal with public school political crap and "standards," but MAY, perhaps, considering it will not be in Sto-Rox, also make me happy?
If only I can find a school that will allow me to run the library as it ought to be run, rather than trying to turn the librarian into just another "specials" teacher.
I love being an educator, but can't handle it in the traditional sense. I'm GREAT at it in non-formal settings, ie the Museum. Or a public library... theoretically.
In other news, our computer is getting spammed with porno sites. That's just annoying. We've only been married a year, we don't NEED porno yet.
That was a joke.
Oh, a 1st grader at the museum today glued a bunch of cardboard circles on sticks and drew faces on them and stuck them in the scissors bucket so they stuck out like flowers in a flower pot and she carried it around saying, "Look, it's a Personality Pot!" She is a genius and will do great things one day. Or will go crazy. I don't know. But before she does I hope she does great things because most likely they will be very very cool.
