My sympathy to you! Ellie used to do that but then miraculously stopped. Sometimes I have to stay in the room and pat her, or even weirder, just stay in the room and read (to myself) until she falls asleep. But she stopped doing the "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING LEAVING ME HERE IN THIS CRIB" screaming. Hopefully it doesn't come back.
